Military Psychology

The history of psychology (especially the applied psychologies, such as psychological assessment and clinical psychology), itself, is significantly intertwined with the military.  However, military psychology, as a specific subdiscipline of psychology is a relatively recent development.  Military psychology is the subdiscipline of psychology whose aim is to explore the the unique demands of military life and unique demands of performing duties as a psychologist in the military.  Some sub-areas of military psychology (which certainly exist outside of the military) are:

     Aviation Psychology

     Psychological Operations

     Special Operations Psychology

     Behavioral Science Consultant Teams

     Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape Psychology
