Psychological assessment is a process involving the integration of various informational sources—psychological tests, personal and medical history, self– and/or other– reported symptoms, and information from interviews with others about the person being evaluated/assessed (e.g., collateral information). As noted, psychological assessment often does involve psychological testing. The theory that underlies psychological testing is referred to as psychometrics. |
